The Joy Will Come in the Mourning?

21 Mar

From the straining of labor,
The staining from blood,
Life given: a favor,
The striving of love,

Will Joy come from the mourning?

By morning time joy will come,
She cries from the depths,
dark caves, dark clefts,
By mourning time will joy come?

When pain persists, love insists
That sunshine flows from panes of grace.
Joy will come from the mourning.

The night is still, is it still night?
In quietness and stillness is rest.
The day breaks forth, it dawned on me,
After mourning birthed joyfulness.
